1. Who this policy covers
This Privacy Policy explains how Dose: Meds on Time for iPhone and Apple Watch, and the website at doseontime.app, handle information. Dose is provided by the developer identified on its App Store product page (“Dose,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
2. Information stored on your device
Dose can store information you choose to enter or import, including medication names and details, schedules, dose logs, symptom entries, refill settings, notification preferences, and trusted-contact details. This information is stored locally in the app’s container and shared app group so Dose features, widgets, and the paired Apple Watch app can work.
We do not operate an account system or a server that receives this local Dose database. Local data can remain in device backups controlled by you and Apple. You can delete individual medication records in Dose; uninstalling the app removes its locally stored app data from that device, subject to any backups you control.
3. Apple Health information
If you choose to connect Apple Health, Dose requests per-medication, read-only access to:
- Medications you have chosen to share with Dose.
- Medication dose events and recent dose history associated with those medications.
Dose uses this information to import and refresh your medication schedule and dose history. Imported information is stored locally with your other Dose data. Dose does not write to or modify Apple Health, sell Health data, use it for advertising or marketing, or disclose it to data brokers.
You can deny access or change permissions at any time in Apple’s Health or Settings apps. Apple controls the HealthKit store and its permission system.
4. Medication lookup
When you type at least three characters into medication search, Dose may send that search text to the U.S. National Library of Medicine’s RxNorm, Prescribable RxNorm, and RxTerms APIs at rxnav.nlm.nih.gov. This retrieves medication names, identifiers, strengths, and forms. As with any internet request, the service may receive ordinary network information such as your IP address and request time.
Dose does not send your dose history, symptoms, trusted-contact details, or Apple Health records to RxNorm. Search responses are cached temporarily in app memory to improve performance.
This product uses public data provided by the U.S. National Library of Medicine, part of the National Institutes of Health. NLM is not responsible for, and does not endorse, Dose. See the RxNav Terms of Service.
6. Website information
The Dose website does not set advertising cookies or run analytics scripts. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which may process standard connection and security information such as IP address, browser details, requested URL, and timestamps to deliver and protect the site. The site loads Plus Jakarta Sans from Google Fonts, so your browser may connect to Google to retrieve font files.
Those providers handle information under their own privacy terms. We do not receive a profile of your medication activity from the website.
7. Retention and security
Local app information remains until you edit or delete it, remove the app, or restore or retain it through a device backup. Internet transmissions and device storage can never be guaranteed completely secure, but Dose minimizes exposure by keeping its primary records local and requesting only the permissions used by its features.
8. Your choices and rights
You can use Dose without connecting Apple Health, change Health and notification permissions in system settings, edit or delete medication records, choose whether to use online medication lookup, and decide whether to export or share reports.
Because we do not maintain user accounts or receive your local Dose database, we generally cannot access, correct, export, or delete that information for you. You can exercise those controls directly on your device. Rights provided by applicable privacy law continue to apply.
9. Children
Dose is not directed to children who cannot legally consent to use a health application in their country. A parent or guardian should supervise use where required by law and healthcare guidance.
10. Updates and contact
We may update this policy when Dose’s features or legal obligations change. We will post the new version here and update the effective date.
